WELCOME TO THE WATER
We can’t wait to host you at Hold Fast Oyster Co., where our coastal farm tour blends salty air, oyster education, and barefoot adventure. Whether you’re a seafood enthusiast, eco-tourist, or simply curious about what it takes to grow an unordinary oyster, you’ll find this immersive experience unforgettable.
Our farm sits in the pristine waters of North Topsail, NC—home to our Seabirdies and Southern Salts oysters. Your tour begins with a boat ride through coastal estuaries, followed by a stop at our floating oyster bar, where you’ll stand side-by-side shucking oysters just pulled from the water.
You’ll learn about sustainable aquaculture practices, get hands-on with our gear, and gain a deeper understanding of the rhythms of tide, time, and teamwork that shape every oyster we grow.

Oysters
Gather around our custom-built floating oyster bar—anchored right on the farm and surrounded by the same waters that raised our oysters. Stand shoulder to shoulder with friends as you shuck oysters pulled straight from the bay, savoring them just seconds out of the water. It’s an unforgettable, tide-level tasting experience that blends freshness, connection, and a true sense of place.
-
Pairings
This isn’t just an oyster tasting—it’s a full-sensory experience. Enjoy curated pairings designed to complement the briny bite of our oysters: artisanal charcuterie, local cheeses, seasonal fruits, and accompaniments that bring out the coastal character in every shell.
-
Islands
After you’ve had your fill of oysters and cocktails, the adventure doesn’t end—just across the channel lies a stretch of uninhabited shoreline begging to be explored. Our ecotours include guided access to neighboring barrier islands where you can beachcomb for shells, wade through tidal pools, or simply kick back in the sun with a cold drink in hand.
Book Here
Booking Notice
We require at least 24 hours’ notice for all farm tour bookings.
As a small, family-run oyster farm, our days start early and are guided by the tides. We’re farmers first—and when we’re not on the water tending to oysters, we’re getting ready to welcome guests like you. Advance notice allows us to plan ahead and give you the best possible experience on the farm.
Thank you for understanding and supporting a working family farm!
Weather Cancellations
Mother Nature always has the final say out here on the coast. Storms can roll in fast—sometimes hours or even minutes before your scheduled tour. When that happens, we put safety first and may need to cancel or reschedule your experience.
If we do cancel due to weather, you’ll receive a full refund, no worries. It’s all part of the adventure. Thanks for rolling with the tides and understanding that out here, we move with the rhythm of the sea.
